A single post on a rumor website just can change “everything”: the rumor has it that Hasselblad will announce a new camera system mid February.
Instead of the current modular HxD series with different digital backs it apparently will be a body with a fixed sensor. The sensor would be bigger then 35mm full-frame sensors but smaller then the H4D 50/60mpx sensors, in pixels as well in physical dimension. It would be cheaper then a Leica S2 (duh!).
Some thoughts:
- No AA filter as with the modular backs?
- Using the existing HC lenses? maybe the same adapter for CF lenses?
- Around 35Mpx to set it apart from the D3x and 1DsmkIII?
- CMOS instead of CCD?
- 4:3 aspect ratio?
- Fuji/HB designed, fabbed by Fuji, rebadged to HB?
- DNG Raw ?
Nope….most likely “”"”"just”"”"” a 40Mpx version of the H4D.
